Terms of Service
Welcome to Personal Expense Tracker (the “Service”), a personal expense
tracking dashboard. By signing in and using the Service you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Accounts and access
- Access is granted by invitation: you sign in with your Google account, and the
service owner approves each account before it can be used.
- You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity
under it.
- The service owner may suspend or revoke access at any time, for example if these
terms are violated or the Service is discontinued.
2. Your data
- You own the data you enter (transactions, budgets, cards, repayments, receipts
and notes). The Service only uses it to provide the features you see.
- You can export, back up and restore your data at any time from the dashboard.
- Cloud backups are stored only in your own Google Drive and are
encrypted with a passphrase that is unique to you. Keep that passphrase safe —
a backup cannot be restored without it.
- Deleting transactions or clearing records is permanent; make backups before
replacing or clearing your data.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the Service only for your own personal expense tracking.
- Do not upload unlawful content, attempt to access other users' data, or interfere
with the operation of the Service.
- Receipts you upload should be your own. If you use receipt scanning, the receipt
image is sent to Google Gemini for text extraction — do not upload receipts you
are not allowed to share.
4. Third-party services
The Service integrates with Google (sign-in and Drive backups) and, for the optional
receipt scan feature, with the Google Gemini API. Your use of these services is also
governed by their own terms and policies.
5. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any
kind. It is a personal tracking aid, not a financial, tax or accounting service; do not
rely on it as your only record of financial transactions. Figures, categories and
converted amounts may be inaccurate.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and its owner are not liable for
any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from
your use of the Service. You are responsible for keeping your own backup copies and
passphrase.
7. Changes
These terms and the Service itself may change over time. Continued use of the Service
after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.
8. Contact
Questions or requests (including access removal) can be sent to the owner through the
Feedback form inside the dashboard.
